Brass, copper, plated and sterling silver items will naturally tarnish over time. For best results store pieces separately in zip-lock bags. This helps to prevent pieces from becoming tangled together too. Always store out of direct sunlight. You can restore shine with a gentle rub of a jewellery polishing cloth.
